KEYSHOT - COMPACT DESKTOP CONTROL PALETTE

KEYSHOT - COMPACT DESKTOP CONTROL PALETTE

KeyShot™ is a new addition to our line of control products using remotely relegendable push-button switches which allow the user to instantly recognize the key function. Its unique, compact shape uses minimal space and it fits behind most computer keyboards.

KeyShot features 10 remotely relegendable, multi-color, backlit liquid crystal display (LCD) push-button switches. The LCD’s can display 36 x 24 pixel bitmaps or 3 lines of text ( 6 characters per line), or a combination of text, graphic symbols or animation. They can alert users to changing operating conditions by showing any of 8 different colors. This enables a customized user interface that changes to suit the task at hand and helps users work faster and with fewer mistakes. Other controls include 13 lighted function keys and a rotary encoder. The KeyShot is capable of accepting Ethernet, USB, RS-232 or RS-422 Compact Interface Cards.

It provides instant audio or video playback triggering in broadcast, post and other professional applications. Other uses include control systems, call centers, financial services, telecommunications, industrial controls, and automation systems.

Physical Specifications

  • Size - 14.5” x 2.5” x 2.0”
  • Weight - 3 lbs.

RACKSHOT - RACKMOUNT CONTROL PALETTE

RackShot provides the exact same control capabilities as our KeyShot in a convenient single space, 19” rack mount package. It connects via RS-232, RS-422, USB or Ethernet to provide instant audio or video clip playback triggering in broadcast automation, post and other professional applications where relegendable push-button switches in a rack are useful.

COMPACT INTERFACE CARDS AND MACRO SOFTWARE

A new “Macro Feature” allows users to define the behavior of all controls by means of a PC based editor. The controllers can be equipped with Ethernet, USB, RS-232 or RS-422 Compact Interfaces. Once programmed, the internal memory is non-volatile and the software is no longer required for use. This lets you completely customize the controller for use in any application.

With 10 LCD buttons and 8 bank buttons, RackShot provides a total of 80 virtual LCD buttons. Each may be individually programmed for On/Off message, color, and display, with latching or momentary operation. You can choose from 7 colors + backlight off, and colors may be selected separately for the ON and OFF states. A given button can be programmed to display 3 lines of 6 text characters, a large single alphanumeric letter/number, an icon selected from an internal set, or a user icon that you can define using the built in icon editor.
There are 4 F-buttons and a Shift button, resulting in 8 virtual F-buttons, each of which may be individually programmed. Finally, there is a push-button programmable encoder.

Any number of buttons may be grouped together to act as a radio-button group. That is, when a given button within a group is caused to go into the ON state, it will have its screen/color go to the ON state, its ON message will be sent, and all other buttons within that group will go to the OFF state, and individual OFF messages, if desired, will be sent out.

Separate ON and OFF messages may be defined per key, between 0 and 31 bytes long. If an OFF message is not needed, the ON message may be up to 62 bytes long. Provision for auto insertion of a checksum is included.

With SoundChest III you can add great sounding effects to your live performance, broadcast, webcast, PA system or other application.

SoundChest III plays common MP3 files from a convenient and low cost Compact Flash (CF) card. Use any computer and your favorite MP3 compatible software to obtain, record and organize sounds from whatever source you choose. Thousands of MP3 sound effects are already available at little or no cost and recording your own sounds is easier than ever before.

Sounds may be added to the CF card by plugging it into any computer appropriately equipped with a built-in adapter, or with an inexpensive external card reader.

Pop the card back into the SoundChest III, assign sounds to whatever buttons you like and you’re ready to go. Advanced non-destructive editing features let you control dynamic volume, panning, sound length and other aspects of the sound. There is memory allocation within the SoundChest III for a total of 100 Key assignments. These are organized as 10 Banks of 10 Keys each.

SoundChest ships with a stock library containing dozens of useful effects such as mechanical sounds, fun sounds, animal sounds, etc.

Connect SoundChest III to your audio system either via the RCA line level connectors or the TRS balanced 1/4” jacks on the rear.

A 3.5mm jack is provided for optionally attaching one or two external effect trigger switches. This allows for special circumstances where a sound must be triggered by an actor on stage, or by a second person in the sound booth that must be physically remote from the SoundChest.

Finally, there is a small slot that allows the SoundChest III to be secured to a desk or table via a common Laptop computer security cable.
